VLADYSLAV DOVHAN
I am a Ukrainian saxophone player and conductor, performing and conducting a broad range of repertoire with a high level of technique and musical understanding. I am an experienced saxophone instructor and the founder of a Music School in Ukraine.

I hold both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees with distinction from the Lviv National Academy of Music named after Mykola Lysenko, one of Ukraine’s premiere music conservatories. Being a winner of several international competitions, I have performed with multiple prestigious orchestras and bands in Ukraine, including the Lviv National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine, the INSO-Lviv National Philharmonic, and the Lviv Jazz Orchestra. I participated in the international saxophone festival “Andorra Sax Fest” (2021) and the Ukrainian Contemporary Music Festival in New York (2023) and collaborated with prominent saxophonists, such as Vincent David, Mariano Garcia, Nacho Gascón, Lars Mlekusch, and others.
I am currently enrolled in the Master of Music at the New England Conservatory (NEC) on a full-merit scholarship. I am the recipient of the Friedlander Family Presidential Scholarship Award (2022, 2023), and the Boston Woodwind Society’s Saxophone Merit Award (2022).

Continuing my prolific performance schedule in Ukraine and on European tours over the last several years, I currently perform with multiple ensembles at the NEC as a soloist. These include Harvard Wind Ensemble, NEC Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Winds, Jazz Orchestra, Jazz Composers Workshop Orchestra, Saxophone Ensemble, Jewish Music Ensemble, and Mande West African Music Ensemble.
